Advanced Computing Technology Laboratory (ACTL)

The Advanced Computing Technology Laboratory (ACTL) is a lab wide partnership to enable high performance computing at the lab. ACTL's mission is to enable scientists to accomplish scientific discoveries through high performance computing. The new center has three complementary approaches to enable this mission:

Computers Systems

  • Altix1 is a 128 processor shared memory SGI supercomputer. More information about the system and time allocation process...
  • colony2a is a 48-processor Linux cluster with Infiniband, Quadrics and Myrinet intreconnects. More information...
  • colony3a is an 80-core Linux cluster with Infiniband network running Suse Linux and Xen.
